Family of ‘Bake Me a Pie’ contestant dies after eating pie

A Florida man’s daughter died after eating a pie while on vacation, The Next Spokesman-Review reports.

The News Service reports that 29-year-old Joshua Gentry’s daughter, Alyssa Meeks, had a pie in her mouth when she ate it, which prompted the emergency medical technicians to call a poison control center.

Meeks had been eating the pie at the home of Gentry, his wife, and two of their friends, The News Service says.

Gentry said his wife had the pie, which she claimed was a secret recipe.

Makeshift pie, made from a mix of ingredients, was sent to the hospital with her.

Meeks was rushed to the local hospital, where she later died.

The couple has since been charged with child neglect and neglect of a dependent.

Australia’s ‘boil advisories’ are more of a threat to tourism than the drought

A national boil advisory has been issued for much of Western Australia, and Queensland is warning of higher levels of water contamination in some regions.

The state’s Health and Safety Authority (HSA) said on Wednesday that it was “actively investigating” reports of contamination in parts of the state, which is on the verge of a three-day boil advisory.

The boil advisory is the state’s second, which was issued earlier this week.

The HSA said the warnings would remain in place until at least Wednesday afternoon.

“The Hsa is currently investigating reports of water contaminants in some parts of WA and Queensland, and is monitoring for additional contaminants and potential threats to the health of people and animals,” the HSA’s website said.

“The State Government has also launched a water quality assessment to identify potential water contaminants and potentially threats to health.”

The WA State Health Department said it had received a number of reports of drinking water contamination, including in areas with low populations, and was taking measures to “reassess water quality”.

“In addition to water quality testing, the WA Department of Health has undertaken a water pollution assessment and is taking measures for further testing,” it said.

“Water quality testing is currently ongoing.

WA Health and Safe Drinking Water Advisory (WA SDSWA) will continue to monitor the status of water quality in WA and WA’s water systems and will continue with monitoring and remediation activities as required.”

In Queensland, the state Health Department says it has received reports of elevated levels of toxins in drinking water in parts and is conducting a “health monitoring program” in the region.

“Health department officers are monitoring the levels of toxic metals, minerals, polymers and other contaminants found in drinking and water in the Queensland community,” the department said in a statement.

“These contaminants include copper, zinc, lead, mercury and cadmium.”

The Queensland Government’s water quality authority says it is also conducting a health monitoring program.

“We have been notified of elevated arsenic levels in drinking waters in the area of Southport,” it added.

“Residents have been advised to use bottled water for drinking water and to flush down toilets and flush any other potentially contaminated drinking water from the taps.”

A further precautionary action has been taken for residents in the community who may have found high levels of copper in their drinking water, and a high level of cadmial in their water supply.

“There are also ongoing health assessments conducted for residents at the community level and for the water system in the town of South Port.”

What to know about the upcoming high surf advisories in Northern California and Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii — Hawaii officials are warning surfers to stay away from the coastline of the state as temperatures climb to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit (39 Celsius) in some areas, while surfers can expect higher winds and storm surges.

Hawaiian National Weather Service meteorologist Roberta Kaleva said the latest advisory comes as the state braces for more extreme weather and has not ruled out the possibility of a strong typhoon.

Kaleva warned surfers in southern parts of the Hawaiian Islands and southern California to be prepared for storm surges, heavy surf and flooding.

The state has also issued its highest storm surge advisory in nearly two decades, with a maximum surge of 4.6 feet (1.5 meters).

“It’s not going to be a pleasant time,” Kalevas told ABC News.

“You can expect a lot of flooding and high winds.

It’s going to feel like a hurricane.”

“We have no control over the winds, but we are prepared,” she said.

While the warning is in effect for the Hawaiian islands, it extends to Hawaii, the US Virgin Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

There is no direct line of sight from Honolulu to the Pacific Ocean, but Kalevo said high surf will occur from the western part of the island chain through the Pacific and into the northern Hawaiian Islands.

“The high surf is a threat to everyone.

It can be life-threatening, even to people with heart attacks,” she told ABCNews.com.

In the southern Pacific, where the current is more moderate, waves of up to 4 feet (0.9 meters) are expected over a wide area.

An advisory issued for California and parts of New England also remains in effect.

California Gov.

Gavin Newsom has issued a state of emergency for parts of Southern California.

But a coastal flood watch is in place in the Central Valley.

A storm surge warning has been issued for parts, including Ventura County, Santa Cruz County and Orange County, and a coastal inundation watch is also in place for parts north of Los Angeles.

Also on Tuesday, officials in Hawaii issued the highest surf advisory in more than two decades for the northern parts of Oahu.

Officials say it is expected to rise as high as 6 feet (2 meters) and it could bring up to 40 inches (130 centimeters) of sea level rise.

Storm surges of 3 feet (9.7 centimeters) or higher are possible, and heavy rain is expected along the coast.

It is forecast to continue until the storm moves inland, with winds of 75 mph (105 kph) and up to 1,500 mph (2,500 kph).
